The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, has announced career opportunities for experts and consultants to conduct short-term research studies for a marine research project titled “Establishment of Oceanographic Survey Unit: Climate Change, Freshwater Scarcity, and Pollution Impact Assessment on Geomorphology, Mangrove, Fisheries, and Wildlife Occurring in Coastal and Marine Waters of District Thatta.” The project is funded by the Petroleum Marine Development Committee (PMDC) Thatta. Candidates having a domicile of Sindh, particularly Thatta, Sujawal, and Jamshoro, will be preferred. The university invites applications for various positions on a contract basis, including Marine Fisheries Expert, Geologist/Oceanographer Expert, Mangrove Specialist, Coastal GIS & Environment Expert, Research Fellow, and Field Assistant/Helper. Eligibility Criteria and Requirements
- Candidates must meet the educational qualifications and experience required for each position.
- Only those with relevant experience in marine research, GIS, environmental impact assessments, and biodiversity conservation will be considered.
- Applicants must have a domicile in Sindh, with a preference for residents of Thatta, Sujawal, and Jamshoro.
Education
- Marine Fisheries Expert: M.Phil/Ph.D. in Freshwater Biology, Fisheries/Marine Biology, or Marine Science.
- Geologist/Oceanographer Expert: M.Phil/Ph.D. in Geology.
- Mangrove Specialist: M.Phil/Ph.D. in Freshwater Biology, Marine Biology, Botany, or related fields, with a specialization in mangrove forests.
- Coastal GIS & Environment Expert: M.Phil/Ph.D. in Agriculture Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Geography, or Geology.
- Research Fellow: BS (4-year) in Freshwater Biology, Fisheries/Marine Biology, or Marine Science.
- Field Assistant/Helper: Literacy is required.
Age Limit
- The age limit for all positions is 40 years, except for Field Assistant/Helper, which may be lower.
